Peter
Christenson is a writer and multidisciplinary artist working in
new genre, conceptual, and performance-based media. His diverse practice invites audiences to serve as both observer and participant in meticulously crafted sociological, art experiments. As a licensed psychotherapist, he is particularly concerned with psychological concepts pertaining to consciousness and identity. Documentation through video, narrative sculpture, photography, and artist-programmed technological instruments candidly portray a hyperawareness to self while fostering social and political commentaries on contemporary issues related to privacy, self- determination, the virtual realm, and the democratization of art.
Christenson is currently an MFA candidate and Teaching Instructor of Record
in Intermedia at Arizona State University's Herberger Institute
for Design and the Arts. |
