| Latte: This performance piece was repeated 4 times in the same week for a 30-minute duration per performance. It is a tribute to Carmelita Tropicana's Leche de Amnesia, and plays, rather ironically, with issues of identity, transculturation, and childhood memories. Each performance ended with my reading a short, autobiographic anecdote about being raised in an Italian-American household in Detroit. The pieces were conducted from my studio and broadcasted in real time via surveillance camera and website and therefore accessible by any user with internet and a browser. The performances were also broadcasted on a flat screen in the GSC Gallery in Tempe, AZ. Each piece allowed for interaction from partipants in the gallery and online through an IM feature and direct phone line to artist. |
