Reworking Craigslist: Reworking Craigslist is a durational performance series, installation-based public-mapping project, and growing archive of videos, text-based prints, and web-based interventions based on the Craiglist Missed Connections pages. Contingent on my location, I will document all passersby (and individuals that willingly enter the space), maintaining a written log of the surveyed individual’s physical characteristics and particular attributes accompanied by the time and details of the ephemeral “encounters” and exchanges. I then draft and anonymously upload snippets of the compiled information to Craigslist’s Missed Connections personal pages seeking continued discussion and/or meetings with all of the “participants.” All interactions virtual or otherwise are collected, and at times, sketches and Polaroids of the passersby as well as “video log performances” and filmed updates may also be attached to the online posts. Aesthetic of installations evolve and transform with the durational performance and passerby-mapping project. Work, drawings, video log performances, data logs, and Polaroids find their way onto wallsand sculptural mind maps literally connect drawings to Craigslist logs with string, etc. portraying possible connections between all involved parties. Adjacent images are concept drawings. Project continues.
