| Vibrobot Drawings: Vibrobot Drawings is a collection of graphite renderings and prints produced entirely by an artist-created tiny directional robot. The robot is inspired by several of the popular vibrobot designs currently being circulated on the web where an object is controlled by a single vibrating (eccentric) motor and transformed into a kinetic machine. My design borrows significantly from Evil Mad Scientist Laboratories' Bristlebot utilizing the end of a toothbrush, a 3VDC Micro Vibration Motor, and a 3V lithium battery. Most significantly, however, my design introduces an embedded pencil tip glued to the nose of the brush enabling the robot to leave its gyrating mark in graphite. The end results are subtle and poetic pencil renderings on paper; each significantly unique and engaging because of the robot's varied movements and placement across the paper. |
